Your Role: 

The Technical Support Account Manager provides consistent, world-class security, network, and product support for Tenable products to a wide range of security minded customers and enterprises. In serving as the primary liaison between the company and specific customers, the Technical Support Account Manager resolves real-world business challenges by supporting cutting-edge vulnerability assessment and compliance auditing software across complex, multi-faceted deployments.  

Technical Support Account Managers are a dedicated Technical Support resource helping customers to achieve business objectives using Tenable’s products.   Ensuring customer feedback is properly channeled into product management, research, and development is a requirement of this position. The Technical Support Account Manager possesses excellent knowledge of security assessment, vulnerability management and compliance auditing capabilities along with the drive to rapidly learn the newest technologies. Impeccable communication skills (written and verbal) focused on sustaining market leading customer loyalty is a key requirement for this position. The Technical Support Account Manager provides support for all of Tenable’s products; including Nessus, SecurityCenter, Log Correlation Engine, and the Passive Vulnerability Scanner. Questions come from a wide variety of sources, including customers that require in-depth help with security best-practices and real-time vulnerability analysis.

Your Opportunity: 

  • Provide support as a named contact for customers in Tenable’s premium services program
  • Create additional value for premium services customers through regular, proactive communication and providing consultative advice based on first-hand knowledge of the accounts and their vulnerability management and mitigation programs and objectives
  • Working with Principal Technical Support Account Managers, provide regular updates to VPs and C-level executives on premium services accounts as required
  • Work with premium services accounts to install/upgrade/migrate SecurityCenter Continuous View, the Nessus suite of products, and other Tenable products and services
  • Actively engage Technical Support personnel to ensure proper handling of questions and issues related to premium service accounts.
  • Analyze vulnerability scan results, system audits, and log events
  • Research and investigate escalated tickets and resolve as many issues as possible without escalating outside of Technical Support.
  • Assist with the training of Technical Support personnel.
  • Recreate software issues in a lab environment
  • Escalate software bugs and feature requests to Tenable's research, development, and product management teams
  • Maintain a very high level knowledge of Tenable’s products and security best-practices

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years experience working with Tenable products specifically; knowledge of vulnerability scans and log analysis with other industry solutions preferred
  • 1+ years previous experience in network administration, Linux/Unix and Windows administration, patch deployment and system configuration
  • 1+ years previous experience in Customer Support, Technical Account Management, and/or Network Security
  • In-depth knowledge of networks, Linux/Unix and Windows administration, patch deployment and system configuration
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Active Secret-Level security clearance, or ability to obtain Secret-Level clearance.
  • Up to 20% travel may be required
