Sr. Manager, Sales Operations

Your Role:

As a member of the Sales Operations team, the Sr Manager, Sales Operations will be responsible to support the Director of Sales Ops & Strategy for North America, as well as the North America, Latin America and Public Sector sales theater leaders.

You will be expected have to have knowledge of and contribute to Tenable’s business from many angles, from our go-to-market approach, analytics, sales process, systems, territory & coverage model, and quota setting to name a few. As the Sr Manager, Sales Operations you will be well-positioned as a central point for sales leadership and sales ops alike, and will act as a crucial adviser and producer of key sales operations deliverables. This role is best suited for an experienced Sales Operations professional who is familiar with key business problems and sales needs and metrics who is prepared to do what it takes to get the job done and get their hands dirty in the data.

In this role, your primary function will be to partner with Director of Sales Ops & Sales Leadership to handle ongoing tasks and build the ground work for this hyper-growth sales team.

The ideal candidate must be team-oriented, demonstrate strong reasoning and communication skills, both oral and written to both corporate executives and the sales team.  Build and maintain strong relationships with operations, sales, FP&A, marketing and customer success teams. Participate in activities including periodic pipeline reviews, forecast calls, relevant project-based work, fiscal year planning, foundational and deep dive reporting and analysis, among other things.

Your Opportunity:

  • Collaborating with sales leadership and sales representatives to further broader business objectives ranging from forecasting to sales process refinement to systems and infrastructure optimization, to QBRs and “run-the-business” activities.
  • Partnering with the Director, Sales Ops & Strategy to build out much of the foundational pieces of the backbone of the PS & LatAm businesses as well as collaborate on efforts for North America, the largest source of revenue for Tenable.
  • Be a resource for Sales Leadership and reps alike on where to access key pieces of information, how to manage their business and optimize their processes.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in sales operations role
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Marketing, CS, and SE teams
  • Experience and familiarity with an Enterprise level sales cycle and business model
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel with the ability to create ad-hoc models and do analysis, data cleansing and comfortability working with very large and complicated data sets
  • Communicate effectively with various audiences ranging from Sales Operations teams to Sales Management to C-level leadership
  • Comfortable operating under pressure/with a sense of urgency
  • Comfortable “in the weeds” and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Strong research, analytical, data crunching, and problem-solving abilities
  • Efficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize multiple on-going projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to gain support and establish working relationships with managers, peers and staff


Ideally: 

  • Experience with the government vertical including contracts, GSA, and other government-specific processes.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM system is preferred
  • Experience using Tableau is preferred
