Your Role:

Tenable's Professional Services organization is looking for a Senior Security Business Process Consultant with a background in Vulnerability Management (VM). The Consultant will be involved in several phases of solution implementation projects including:  assessing the capability of a customer’s VM program, recommending process and technology improvements, and assisting with design and architecture of the proposed Tenable solution to assist the customer achieve those recommendations. A creative thinker that drives customer success is needed who can help build a process-first perspective on how Tenable solutions should be used to achieve customer’s cybersecurity objectives.  This is an opportunity to work with innovative technology and industry standards.

Your Opportunity:

  • Assess customers maturity in common vulnerability management practices
  • Analyze business processes and make recommendation improvements aligned with Tenable solutions functional capabilities.
  • Work closely with customers to transform business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Work with customers to evaluate what metrics are used to measure success of the VM program as well as make recommendations of what metrics are important from a best practices perspective.
  • Provide recommendations on architecture, deployment, configuration, and best practices use of Tenable solutions in customer environments
  • Analysis of scan results and troubleshooting failed scans
  • Development of scan policies, scan zones, asset list, scan schedules, dashboards and reports to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients
  • Execute the engagement to exceed expectations based on strong understanding of the customer’s business and their unique needs
  • Create additional value for clients through continual insights and consultative advice based on experience with the Tenable products, the customer, their industry, established standards and industry and company best practices
  • Research user needs and requirements and identify areas where changes can make maximum impact
  • Provide thought leadership in terms of methods and best practices for deploying Tenable solutions
  • Support the development of Statements of Work
  • Deliver custom training for prospects/customers and partners on as-needed basis to supplement other training staff
  • Help sales while on customers sites to identify further revenue by helping to promote the wider Tenable solution
  • Liaise with Technical Support on the rare occasion when dealing with an onsite customer escalation
  • Support the enablement of Tenable partners by training, mentoring, certifying, and inspecting
  • Document methods and best practices for use internally and with customers

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years experience in IT, security, risk management or professional services
  • Recent in-depth experience managing vulnerability management programs.
  • In depth knowledge of networks, Linux/Unix and Windows administration, patch deployment and system configuration
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Understanding of security principles, policies and industry best practices
  • Willing and able to travel to client sites up to 50%
