Your Role:

At Tenable, the work that we do matters in delivering industry-leading cyber exposure products. Our mission is to help our customers understand and manage their security vulnerabilities and effectively manage their cyber-exposure risk.  As the Sr. Product Manager for Sec and Compliance, you will be responsible for building and managing the federal product roadmap and product certification/compliance initiatives. This includes maintaining, prioritizing, aligning and socializing product needs and requirements to meet certification and compliance standards, specifically focused on Tenable’s federal and global customers.

We’re looking for a PM who has a strong technical background and adept at leading, influencing, and inspiring collaboration across cross-functional teams. In this role, you will partner closely with DevOps and platform engineering as well as product managers operating across the product portfolio. This is a high visibility product management opportunity with global impact. It touches a wide variety of compliance regulations and partnering with internal teams to define scope and help drive delivery of specific features required to open regulated markets. The ideal candidate will have the demonstrated ability to dive into technical details with engineering and DevOps to develop strategy and roadmap, prioritize product backlogs, and define requirements around product security standards and certifications. Experience in on-premise and cloud security product compliance frameworks such as Common Criteria, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, SOC2, PCI DSS, and other international product certifications is strongly preferred.  

Your Opportunity: 
  • Partner with DevOps and Platform Engineering teams to clearly define scope and priority for delivery of security and compliance product initiatives. 
  • As the Security PM, you will be an advocate for security best practices which will include process and technology improvements and will require you to partner with Eng/DevOps and Product teams to evangelize such initiatives from inception to delivery.
  • Establish ongoing cadence and process around product certifications lifecycles 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure internal alignment on product requirements, goals, execution, and ongoing support.
  • Understand and empathize with customer and business needs and translate into actionable product plans and requirements. 
  • Participate in routine meetings with Sales, Support, Customer Success, and other teams to gather feedback/requirements and keep them informed about product changes and product plans
  • Participate in regular customer meetings to gather feedback on product needs, requirements, and challenges to inform roadmap.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally across technical (product and engineering), business (sales and support), and external teams (assessors, advisors) to drive successful product outcomes for both on-premise and cloud-based security products. 
  • Identify, prioritize, and evangelize product backlog across the product suite for key public sector customers.
  • Light travel (10%) to company offices, planning sessions, and customers.
What You'll Need:
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Sales Engineering, Engineering, Program Management, Consulting, or other relevant business areas
  • 5+ years of experience building or maintaining enterprise security products
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering or computer science. 
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise IT Security Markets, products, and compliance standards
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in computer science, engineering or a related field; Masters degree a plus
  • Experience with Cloud Architecture and DevOps / Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts and the SDLC in an agile/scrum environment
  • Ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization without authority
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage, align and prioritize the backlog of competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to document research findings, market analysis, and product requirements for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills
