Your Role:

Tenable Network Security is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to support our growing Federal Sales Team.  You will align to Tenable’s Department of Defense and Intelligence focused Team.  You will ensure great technical outcomes for our Customers, Selling Team, and Partners.  The Senior Sales Engineer role  assist in all technical efforts across pre-sales and post-sales success, and provides technical thought leadership. solution demos, hands-on proof of concepts spanning Tenable’s cybersecurity portfolio. You will drive sales success with your technical knowledge, understanding of continuous Vulnerability Management, technical account management skills, sales ability, and a strong customer-first focus. You will be a key sales team partner working to achieve or exceed revenue targets for your region.

Your Opportunity:

  • Deliver solution-oriented technical presentations and demos of Tenable solutions
  • Design and manage compelling "Proof of Concept" evaluations  (typically onsite)
  • Answer technical questions and provide consultative security & compliance expertise to clients and prospects
  • Work closely with Customer Success Management teams to drive great Customer outcomes
  • Provide continuous feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams
  • Consistently contribute knowledge and skills to Tenable’s technical community
  • Never stop learning and constantly seek out training and new skills
  • Position may require 25% - 50% travel in region
What you'll need:
  • 5 years of direct pre-sales experience
  • Technical solutions selling experience in Federal DOD and Intelligence communities
  • Ability to get a security clearance, current Secret clearance strongly preferred 
  • Experience with Nessus or other vulnerability scanning technologies
  • Solid foundational knowledge of TCP/IP and network security concepts
  • Experience with Redhat Enterprise Server/CentOS, etc. at command-line level
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., PCI, FISMA, SOX, NERC)
  • Experience and ability to interpret complex technical requirements and map Tenable solutions to them
  • Understanding that effective product demos are not about showing the product, they are an opportunity to show how we can solve problems
  • Understanding and ability to integrate use RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with Web Application Scanning
  • Familiarity with Container Technology/Security
  • Pluses: Bachelor's Degree, CISSP, GSEC, GCIH, CEH
