Your Role:

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for the overall success of a group of Tenable customers. The SDR is responsible for customer adoption, utilization and renewal. The SDR can also recommend potential product expansion for continued success of a customer. The SDR is responsible for the overall relationship of the customer with Tenable. As an SDR, you will develop long-term relationships with your portfolio of assigned customers, connecting with key business executives and IT stakeholders, developing an understanding of their business requirements and goals, and how they are using Tenable.

Leveraging this customer knowledge, and your Tenable expertise, you will provide adoption, industry and implementation best practices and personalized recommendations to ensure your customers maximize value from their investment in Tenable. You will also serve as an escalation point when needed to facilitate the resolution of unexpected issues, connecting customers with the right resources for assistance and working with our technical support team to provide the appropriate business and technical context to ensure resolution. The AM is also responsible for identifying new business opportunities within their assigned territories in conjunction with their Territory Manager.  

Your Opportunity:

  • The Sales Development Representative is responsible for the overall success of a finite group of Tenable customers
  • The SDR must be able to sell Tenable’s Continuous Network Monitoring vision into the customer base, recommend security best practices and be viewed as a trusted advisor to the customer
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with customer key stakeholders and executive sponsors such that all Tenable activities are closely aligned with the customer’s business case and business strategy, allowing the full potential of their Tenable’s solutions to be realized
  • Leverage comprehensive understanding of Tenable’s products and solutions to provide relevant adoption and technical recommendations on solutions and enhancements customized to customer’s business needs.
  • Onboard customers by working with them to ensure they are leveraging Tenable’s solutions and achieving success and engaging with both Tenable and partner/channel resources as necessary
  • Monitor and identify trends in Tenable’s adoption and utilization, support adoption and utilization, and provide guidance to customers as part of an Annual Success Review
  • Provide timely account or issue executive summary status reporting both to customers and management
  • Identify, grow, and close opportunities within territory and collaborate with sales teams to ensure growth attainment
  • Ensuring current customer account growth and support/subscription renewals
  • Identify and assess renewal risks for customer’s license and subscriptions and collaborate with internal teams
  • Assist with high severity request or issue escalations as needed
  • Interface and support customers and channel partners in a professional manner in relation to addressing licensing and policy questions
  • Perform outbound calling for the purpose of lead generation
  • Manage and update the company’s contact databases as it relates to their respective regions
  • Develop knowledge of the Network Security Industry and Tenable products
  • Manage inbound leads originating from several sources (phone, email and chat) for an assigned territory
  • Work closely with sales team, marketing and channel partners to be aware of and support sales and marketing campaigns
  • Generate and consolidate reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you'll need:

  • 2+ year of experience in sales or similar Account Manager role
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Competency with sales tracking tools
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented and capable of accurate work with minimal supervision
  • Relevant territory language may be required
And ideally:
  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
  • Ideal mix of experience is account management and application software or IT technical
  • This person should be process driven
  • This person should be a problem solver and be able to communication clearly whether technically or non-technically both internally and externally
  • This person should be achievement orientation
