Your Role:

Tenable is looking for a highly technical Performance Engineer to join the Automation and Performance QA Team.  As a Performance Engineer, you will work with a diverse group of developers and testers in agile feature teams to do performance, load and stress testing of Tenable products.

Your Opportunity:

  • Help design, implement and execute automated tools written in Python to generate load and drive system activity.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization.
  • Work within an Agile development environment.

What you'll need:

  • 2+ years of professional performance testing experience in a quality assurance or performance engineering role.
  • Experience testing RESTful web services APIs.
  • Experience working in a Linux or UNIX environment.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Java, Javascript, or Ruby and a willingness to learn Python 3.x.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools, such as top, Datadog, Grafana, Graphite, InfluxDB, Perfmon, Splunk, or sysstat, sar, Telegraf, vmstat, or iostat.
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts such as ipv4, ipv6, dhcp, subnets, ports and protocols.
  • Experience with test case management and bug tracking software such as Jira.
  • Optional experience with continuous integration using Bamboo or Jenkins.
  • Optional experience with performance testing tools such as Jmeter, locust.io, or LoadRunner.
  • Optional experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Fiddler, vRest, or HttpMaster.
  • Optional Amazon Web Services (AWS) knowledge.
  • Optional experience with network communication monitoring tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, Chrome inspector, or Firebug.
