Enterprise Agile Coach

Columbia Gateway Drive | Columbia | Maryland | United States | 21046

Your Role:

Tenable is seeking an experienced Agile Coach who will perform 1:1 and Team Coaching, Mentoring, and Training at all levels in the Product Organization based on Agile principles and values.

The goal of an Agile Coach is to improve teams, portfolio and enterprises by increasing collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement and introducing techniques that promote responsiveness and adaptability in the face of unpredictable circumstances and ultimately enable continuous delivery of business value.

Tenable has many distributed teams and locations around the globe and head offices in Columbia, MD. We seek a coach with experience working in distributed environments.

Your Opportunity:

  • Guide teams and management on enabling self-organization and instilling a continuous improvement mindset
  • Help the organization understand the “why” of agile
  • Promote and be involved in the workplace agile community by leading communities of practice, volunteering for brown bags, lean coffees, working groups, etc.  
  • Help maintain a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged
  • Facilitate sessions and retrospectives on a larger program level scale
  • Assist Director of Agile Transformation in setting strategy for the Product organization
  • Promote the Agile mindset and contribute to its spreading across the company
  • Mentor team members who are currently performing the Scrum Master role
  • Model the Scrum Master responsibilities as part of coaching new teams
  • Prepare team training on Agile, Scrum, Kanban, teamwork, facilitation techniques, etc.  
  • Share wins and struggles with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches, so everyone learns from each other
  • Support and educate teams in implementing/improving Agile development and engineering approaches such as pairing, mobbing, TDD, etc.
  • Help identify and visualize/communicate impediments at the multi-team and organizational level

What you'll need:

  • A deep understanding of the difference between coaching, training, and mentoring
  • A strong understanding of the key components which make up a high performing team
  • Experience addressing the challenges of implementing the agile mindset
  • 6+ years of work experience in a similar role
  • Hands on experience as a Scrum Master and/or PO, preferably both
  • Hands on Jira experience
  • In-depth experience with various agile frameworks
  • Experience with Agile product and portfolio management.
  • Experienced in techniques to increase team cohesion, collaboration, and teamwork
  • Experience facilitating events in a distributed setting - Zoom, Slack, and is familiar with popular distributed working facilitation tools
  • Solid understanding of the difference between coaching, mentoring, training, and advice
  • Ability to demonstrate a continuous learning mindset
  • Excellent skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Expert in using and explaining the purpose of agile metrics
And ideally:
  • Familiar with Lean UX, iterative UX design and integrating into a sprint
  • Ability to coach from a Product Owner stance
