Elite Technical Support Engineer

Your Role:

The Elite Technical Support Engineer provides consistent, world-class security, network, and product support to Tenable customers that have selected our highest touch support offering - Premium Support.

The Elite Technical Support Engineer possesses excellent knowledge of security assessment, vulnerability management and compliance auditing capabilities along with the drive to rapidly learn the newest technologies. Impeccable communication skills (written and verbal) focused on sustaining market leading customer loyalty is a key requirement for this position. The TSE provides support for all of Tenable’s products; including Tenable.io, Nessus, SecurityCenter, Log Correlation Engine, and Nessus Network Monitor.

Your Opportunity:

  • Maintain an expert-level knowledge of Tenable’s products and security best-practices
  • Develop and maintain a strong awareness of the customer’s specific deployment
  • Research and investigate escalated tickets and resolve as many issues as possible without escalating outside of Technical Support.
  • Actively engage Technical Support personnel to ensure proper handling of questions and issues related to premium service accounts
  • Analyze vulnerability scan results, system audits, and log events
  • Provide regular updates to management on premium services accounts
  • Recreate software issues in a lab environment
  • Escalate software bugs and feature requests to Tenable's research, development, and product management teams

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years experience in one or more of the following: Technical Support for complex enterprise software, Linux Administration, Network Administration or Network Security
  • 2+ year previous experience working with Tenable products
  • In-depth knowledge of networks, Linux/Unix and Windows administration, patch deployment and system configuration
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work 9am - 5:30pm shift
