Director of Solution Marketing

Your Role:

Tenable is looking for a Director of Solution Marketing to lead the team responsible for helping customers understand how to solve complex cybersecurity problems and reduce their cyber exposure using Tenable products. The Director of Solution Marketing will be responsible for building out the Solutions Marketing function, defining and implementing solution marketing best practices, and designing go-to-market strategy for our solutions.

 

The Director of Solution Marketing will combine Tenable’s products and industry-leading approaches to address real-world cybersecurity use cases faced by vulnerability management, cloud and application security, and OT security professionals. This individual will drive solution positioning and messaging in close partnership with product marketing, product management, and Tenable Research. This individual must understand the industry landscape so they can build go-to-market strategies that articulate how Tenable’s platform addresses real customer challenges.

Your Opportunity:

  • Drive the creation and adoption of our differentiated solution points-of-view in the form of solution frameworks, patterns, and use cases for key cybersecurity problems
  • Develop the narrative, themes, target audiences, and buyer journey resources for each solution
  • Design the go-to-market program plans and marketing mix for each solution
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Product Management, and the leadership team on solution strategy, design, execution, and validation
  • Work closely with Digital Marketing, Global Demand Center, and Field Marketing to drive execution of solution go-to-market plans
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of senior solution marketers who become trusted partners with their peers across Sales, Engineering, Channel, and Customer Success

What You’ll Need:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in solutions marketing, product marketing, and/or product management in technical B2B software companies, including at least one role in the cybersecurity space
  • Cybersecurity domain expertise and a passion for helping organizations solve important problems to reduce their cyber exposure
  • Track record of driving change informed through data, analysis, collaboration, and a strong understanding of the customer and their use cases
  • Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop talented people that will consistently deliver impactful results
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively position solutions to both practitioners / end users and decision makers, working with marketing and sales to build a healthy pipeline while increasing the velocity and rate of closing deals
  • Deep understanding of how to cut above the noise in a crowded security market
  • Ability to effectively partner with all functions from engineering and product to sales
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills with the ability to drive outcomes across customer-facing teams (sales, technical sales, customer success, and services), product, engineering, business, and enablement teams
  • Strong project, time management, and team collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with remote/distributed teams.
  • BA/BS required
  • Less than 15% travel -- to customers, company offices, security conferences, etc.
