About the Job

Tenable is seeking a talented competitive intelligence professional with security experience to help drive our explosive growth (5 consecutive quarters of 45%+ growth).  In this role, you will draw on your security experience, technical expertise, resourcefulness, and business acumen to arm Tenable with the insights to outmaneuver our competition and capture new market opportunities.  You will work closely with product marketing, product management, sales, and executive colleagues to help Tenable build on our global scale and massive growth.  This is a remarkable opportunity for a motivated individual to make an impact in one of the strongest security companies in the world – join us today! 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze the security market, including competitor activity, product announcements, messaging/positioning, partnerships, and customer announcements; alert colleagues to competitive developments with immediate analysis and positioning
  • Maintain a deep understanding of competitors’ solutions, identifying strengths and weaknesses; develop talking points and tactics to defeat them in competitive deals
  • Analyze competitors’ corporate strategies and proactively make actionable recommendations for product development, marketing, sales, and other teams
  • Create and maintain competitive battlecards, competitive positioning documents, detailed technical analysis reports, competitive feature comparison charts, and other competitive materials
  • Respond with urgency and quality to deal-related requests/inquiries from sales colleagues
  • Perform market and competitive analysis projects on key strategic topics, such as win/loss analysis; manage external research vendors as needed
  • Contribute to overall marketing and messaging strategy and execution, including competitive displacement campaigns
  • Leverage market data and personal relationships to stay on top of industry trends and activity
  • Maintain all competitive materials and resources for colleagues in a well-organized repository
  • Create and maintain competitive sales enablement materials and deliver live enablement sessions to sales colleagues
  • Must have ability to travel up to 15% of time

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally from a top university
  • Information security experience required; CISSP a plus
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management market a big plus
  • 3+ years of competitive intelligence, strategy, product marketing, or product management experience in enterprise technology; 6+ years of broadly relevant career experience
  • Experience with Salesforce.com a plus
