Happy International Women's Day from Tenable!
We are delighted to share the stories of the remarkable women within the company who have not only displayed success in the field of cyber security, but have also helped shaped Tenable to be all that it is today! Women@Tenable group co-lead, Tamie Nguyen, shares her journey and the accomplishments of Women@Tenable.
It seems like only yesterday I was asked to be part of Tenable’s Diversity & Inclusion Council. Excited and eager to be part of a company grassroots campaign that highlights and celebrates diversity in the workplace, I felt even more grateful to lead the Diversity & Inclusion’s affinity group, Women@Tenable, with my co-lead Natalie Goodman. On its one-year anniversary, I take great pride looking back on all that Women@Tenable has accomplished, and I’m looking forward to all the growth we are planning for the future.
We started Women@Tenable with the idea to promote an open and supportive environment that unites Tenable women (and allies) from all departments, backgrounds, and experience levels. With the support of our executive leaders and fellow teammates, we have grown the group to include well over 200 employees globally in the past year alone. We have held inspiring panel discussions, from leading women in the cybersecurity field with Niloo Razi Howe and Kim Hammonds, to organizing informative workshops to build on emotional intelligence in the workplace, and building a community of supportive individuals around our mission. The enthusiasm and participation within our group has been nothing short of inspiring.
This year on International Women’s Day, we share in the same belief that an equal world is an enabled world. Here at Tenable, we strive to promote gender equality in the workplace and in our communities, and we continue to celebrate the achievements of women across our company. By shining the spotlight on deserving individuals, and also promoting awareness against gender bias, we hope to be a positive part of the movement for equality.
Reflecting on the tremendous success of Women@Tenable, I’m even more excited about what we can accomplish in 2020. We hope to showcase more exciting guest speakers and to coordinate internal networking events so we can all share our experiences and help uplift our peers across the world. Our focus in 2020 is also to provide resources and guidance on career development, participate in more local community outreach, and continue to highlight and praise those individuals who are trailblazers for equality.
