Heading to the Grace Hopper Celebration? We are! This prestigious conference is a unique opportunity to network with the best women technologists all under one roof. To make sure you're on your A-game, Tenable recruiters are sharing their top tips for making the most out of the week.
1. Introduce yourself to everyone.
This may seem obvious but say hello to the person sitting next to you. Share what you do, why you love tech and what you hope to do in the future. This is a space filled with like-minded individuals! Who knows how that person might help you down the road. It's all about who you know?
2. Use the Grace Hopper maps to locate your must-see companies (especially Tenable).
Maps will be your best friend as you navigate the conference hall. After all, this is the largest gathering of women technologists, so there's going to be lots going on. Pre-plan your route to make the most of your time.
3. Bring snacks and drinks to stay fueled for the week.
While light refreshments and small munchies will be available, you're going to be purchasing food for the major meals. We recommend bringing cash with you, as some of the vendors only accept cash. In all the excitement, stay nourished and hydrated. You want to be at your best!
4. Upload your resume to the resume database.
One of the best parts about the Grace Hopper Celebration is the opportunity to find new jobs. Before going to the conference, upload your resume to the resume database for thousands of infosec employers to see. Many companies search the database and conduct preliminary interviews right at the conference! This could be the start of your next gig.
5. Start from the back of the conference hall and work your way forward.
It's natural intuition to start with the booths at the front of the hall. But, we suggest working your way from the back to the front so that you'll be at the booths with smaller crowds. Then, you'll be near the exits at the end of the day. Tenable is near the charging stations in the back of the expo hall, so be sure to start by us at booth #8838! We are conducting preliminary interviews for a number of roles at the conference.
6. Chargers, chargers, chargers.
Feel a little panicky when your device goes below 50%? Don't forget to bring your devices and their chargers each day! If you do forget to pack a charger, charging stations will be dotted around the conference hall. A great deal of engagement happens in the digital sphere, such as the exchange of digital resumes, so make sure your gadgets are good to go. This is a tech conference, after all.
7. Follow along on social:
Companies use their social media channels to host giveaways and chats on the spot. Follow the official Grace Hopper social handles, as well as your favorite companies, to get live updates from them at the conference.
-Join the conversation on social by using the hashtag #GHC18.

When Tenable created the Cyber Exposure category, we became the world's first Cyber Exposure Company: defining a completely new domain, giving customers critical visibility of cyber risk, empowering them to measure one of the biggest existential threats of our time. As a new publicly-traded company, we've expanded our playing field, which means we're expanding our team.
Our recruiters will be onsite looking for people to join #OneTenable. We have open roles in Engineering, R&D, and Product Management, to name a few. Check them out here.
